TF-CBT is an evidence-based treatment for children and adolescents (ages 3-18) who are experiencing negative impacts following any type of traumatic event. Through this training, therapists will learn how to implement the model with fidelity and how to know who is appropriate for this treatment. This training expands the typical two day training to include additional information regarding trauma-informed assessment and more time to discuss clinical challenges and how to problem solve while sticking to the model. There will be opportunities for consultation regarding actual cases, to discuss challenges, and to share successes as children and families progress through the healing process. Also included in the price are 12 group consultation calls (1 hour each). These are steps that are required to provide TF-CBT and to become a Certified TF-CBT Therapist.
This training is for licensed mental health therapists who intend to complete all of the required steps (see prerequisites and requirements when you follow the registration link). Participants must have a masters degree or higher in psychology, social work, counseling, or a related field. Graduate students in these programs or those working toward their license in these fields may be able to attend if they are receiving supervision from a licensed mental health professional.
