TF-CBT 2-Day Training

Hillside Family of Agencies is pleased to invite you to the upcoming 2-day live training for Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy!
This training will provide 11 CEU contact hours for LMSWs, LCSWs, LMFTs, and LMHCs.

Location: 1 Mustard Street, Rochester, NY 14609 – Conference Center
Dates: Thursday, November 15th and Friday, November 16th
Time: 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. both days*
Cost: $200 by check or money order made payable to Hillside Children’s Center

Space is limited and registration will close once the allotted slots are filled. Participants will be registered on a first come, first served basis.
*Note: A continental breakfast will be provided and 1 hour will be allocated for lunch each day. You are welcome to utilize the refrigerator and microwave located at the building if you choose to bring your lunch. You also have the option of purchasing lunch at the Mustard Street Café or are welcome to refer to the attached lunch map for local places to eat that are nearby.
Goal of this Training
To provide educational and practical experiences that will prepare Master’s level therapists to practice Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy.
As a result of this training, participants will be able to:
- Describe the nature of the research that supports the efficacy of TF-CBT
- Understand key issues related to model fidelity and inclusionary and exclusionary criteria for TF-CBT
- Recognize the importance of respectful and empowering client engagement in the treatment process
- Understand the rationale behind each TF-CBT component and be able to use at least 3 tools or strategies for each of the model’s components
Pre-work is Required

It is also recommended that each participant read the official manual for TF-CBT titled Treating Trauma and Traumatic Grief in Children and Adolescents (Second Edition) by Cohen, J.A, Mannarino, A.P, & Deblinger, E.
Post Training (Consultation Calls)
Those interested in pursuing certification in TF-CBT will be provided with instructions by the trainer as to how to access the process for joining a consultation group. Participation in at least 9 of 12 monthly calls is another step toward certification.
